What is it?
The Energy Information Service for Landholders is a free phone service for farmers and landholders in Queensland providing information and guidance on a range of energy matters.
Objective
To ensure farmers and landholders in Queensland can access up to date information and guidance about energy on their farm and for their business.
The Queensland Ag Energy Hub provides a centralised hub of information for Queensland farmers navigating the energy needs and requirements of their operations.
What is it?
The website provides information about reducing expenditure and case studies from farms that have successfully implemented savings initiatives, as well as fact sheets on pumping, irrigation, energy efficient farm buildings and more.

To ensure farmers can access information about energy saving opportunities on their farm and in their business.
Queensland Farmers’ Federation in partnership with the Queensland Government, has prepared the Queensland Renewable Energy Landholder Toolkit to assist and inform landholders as they respond to and negotiate with energy industry representatives about accessing land and developing renewable energy projects.
What is it?
A Toolkit to assist and inform landholders as they respond to and negotiate with energy industry representatives about accessing land and developing renewable energy projects.
Objective
To ensure landholders are aware of the various potential benefits and risks associated with on-farm renewable developments.
The Farm Business Resilience Program (FBRP) is available to primary producers in Queensland. The Program helps you review all aspects of your business and identify strategies to address your risks through the development of a Farm Business Resilience Plan. This program is jointly funded by the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Queensland Government’s Drought and Climate Adaptation Program.
What is it?
The program supports farmers to identify gaps and areas of focus for their business. FBRP can assist with natural disaster and drought management, strategic business and risk management skills, family business planning and natural resource management.
Objective
Improving your farm’s long-term business resilience to help you absorb and recover from challenges that have a negative impact on production and financial returns.

🚜 Far North Queensland really knows how to host a field day 😎 Members of the QFF team spent last week enjoying the biennial Rotary FNQ Field Days event in Mareeba.On Thursday morning, QFF hosted the inaugural AgTech and Innovation Breakfast alongside our members Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers and CANEGROWERS with guest speakers Minister for Primary Industries the Hon Tony Perrett MP and Minister for Local Government and Water and Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers the Hon Ann Leahy. Minister Perrett and Minister Leahy provided insights into their respective policy areas including updates on the 25-Year Blueprint Strategy for Queensland Agriculture, and the important role industry plays in shaping the future of the sector. Minister Leahy spoke about the significant potential she sees for agriculture with regard to water planning and the expansion of unallocated water for agriculture. Questions from guests allowed discussion on other critical topics for agriculture including #biosecurity, and the critical impact of #transport and #logistics challenges in the north and the need for building greater #resilience in our roads. A massive thank you to the Rotary FNQ Field Days Organising Committee for their support to bring the QFF AgTech and Innovation Breakfast to the field days event. The Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) alongside its peak industry body members Cotton Australia, Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers (QFVG) and CANEGROWERS, have welcomed today’s announcement at the FNQ Field Days event in Mareeba by the Minister for Primary Industries the Hon Tony Perrett MP regarding changes to the definition of a ‘primary producer’ in Queensland.The changes will see the definition of a primary producer amended allowing greater access to support under the join Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), allowing disaster-affected farmers who may have been previously ineligible for assistance in Queensland can apply for support measures like Disaster Recovery Grants, disaster loans and freight subsidies.The previous definition of primary producer caused confusion for farmers and farm businesses applying for disaster and drought assistance. It also limited a farmer’s ability to generate ‘off-farm’ income—through agritourism, contract harvesting, or other farming-related activities—without risking the loss of their primary producer status.QFF CEO Jo Sheppard said that QFF and its peak body members – Canegrowers, Cotton Australia, and QFVG – have advocated for these changes for more than a decade.“The previous definition of ‘primary producer’ has been a barrier to farmers across the state receiving the timely support they need during natural disasters and droughts,” Ms Sheppard said.“Good agricultural policy is never a set and forget.
